Sorry, but there are no more tags available to filter with.
I did a 3D Photosynth of our Heliotrope Hike. It has a 360 degree view of the high spot where we went.

This year I was on the Festival of Trees team with the Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce and Skagit Young Professionals. Our team was made up of mostly women, so the theme is decidedly girly. It was Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend from the old Marilyn Monroe movie. Our tree was part of the overall event which is a charity gala for the local cancer foundation where they auction off the trees we made. We gathered about $6000 of stuff donated as part of our tree. On Tuesday there was a Designer Appreciation Night and we were voted Designers’ Choice by all the other tree designers. I’ve uploaded a ton of photos to Flickr, most of which I have to get permission from people before I make public, but I do have some public photos to show.
There was also a Tiki tree there that I really liked and I took a few photos of it too.

Here are the photos from the meet up last night...

We had our monthly get together tonight at Skagit Gardens. There were a few new faces too. Here are the photos...

I went over to help tear down the tree yesterday and all went well. We managed to get the telescope out of the tree without dropping it! hehe I didn't get any photos this time though.

Today was build day for our trees and I took a ton of photos. Some of them are blurry, but I uploaded them anyway. The theme for our tree is Forever Young and it has just about everything a kid could want when they wake up Christmas morning.

This week has been pretty busy. On Thursday a few of us went to a Microsoft TechNet event in Redmond, but due to a fallen power pole (who knows why that happened?) the theater lost power in the morning and half the day's events were canceled. We drove all over the place for something to do and ended up in Factoria somehow. After a quick lunch we headed back to Redmond to see if the afternoon events were still on. With power restored and still over an hour to go before the event started we explored a game shop next to the theater and I bought a Go board. We spent the next hour teaching Rob how to play. After the event, we headed over to Bellevue for the SharePoint user group through traffic that was insanely lethargic. All in all, the day started at 5am and ended at 11pm. It was a long drawn out day, but it was still fun to get out of town for a while.
Today I went to the SYP Festival of Trees committee work party at Amelia & Tony's house where we got the tree decorations ready.
There are untouched photos on my flickr account and some corrected ones (some are still pretty blurry) on my spaces photo section. Enjoy!

It was an interesting conversation at our Monday meeting this week. We took a photo since it was at a new location, Java Jo's on Riverside Drive in Mount Vernon.

Yesterday I few of us went on a hike up Cascade Pass. It was the most grueling, hailing, barefoot, miserable slog through sharp rocks, with 50lbs packs, I've ever experienced... Just kidding. It was actually a lot of fun and I took a lot of photos along the way, mostly on the way back down since I'm out of shape and was huffing and puffing the whole way up. I'm going to be sore from this hike for the next couple days!
Anyway, the photos from our little adventure will be on my flickr feed shortly. As usual, I didn't really edit the photos beyond rotating them and doing a few small tweaks here and there. Enjoy!
We went to Cascadian Farms' roadside stand for ice cream and smoothies and a brewery on the way back for burgers and brats.
I'm going to go to our coffee thing in a few.

This was pretty cool and there were plenty of people there this time.

This should be fun. I've been to The Porterhouse before and the food is awesome.

Wow, that's one huge burger! A couple of friends and I have compiled a list of local restaurants and what time they close. We eat out a lot and kept running out of ideas. Anyway, we're putting the list into a database and I'll make it available one way or another in the next week or so.
